Common questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google — not by us — so cancellation happens in the same place you started the subscription.

  • iOS / iPadOS: Settings › [Your Name] › Subscriptions › Nykto VPN › Cancel Subscription.
  • macOS: System Settings › Apple ID › Media & Purchases › Manage › Subscriptions.
  • Android: Google Play Store › Menu › Subscriptions › Nykto VPN › Cancel.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then. See the Terms of Service §6.5 for the auto-renewal disclosures.

How do I delete my account?

Inside the app: Settings › Account › Delete Account. Or email privacy@nykto.app from the address on the account. Deletion is permanent and removes every record we hold — see the Privacy Policy §9 for the full retention story.

I want a refund.

We honour a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first billing period of any plan. Refunds are processed by the platform you bought from:

  • Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions

If the platform refuses an in-window request, email support@nykto.app and we will dispute it on your behalf.

I’m on BYOS and the install failed.

The Nykto BYOS installer needs Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 on a fresh VPS. The most common failure modes are: a non-Ubuntu distro, a non-empty /etc/wireguard, or a cloud provider whose default firewall blocks UDP 51820 and TCP 443.

The VPS shortlist page documents which providers ship VPN-friendly defaults. If you are still stuck after checking that, email support@nykto.app with the output of the installer — the relay agent does not log anything by design, so we will need that paste to help.

How do I report a security issue?

Email security@nykto.app with details. We do not run a paid bug bounty programme yet, but every responsibly disclosed issue gets credit in the changelog and a thank-you reply.

Is the warrant canary current?

The latest dated statement is at vpn.nykto.app/canary. We commit to refreshing it at least once per month — if more than 30 days have passed without an update, treat the canary as expired.
